Karen Pollack – Chief Vision Therapist
Karen started working as a vision therapist over 40 years ago in a private practice and in 1984 joined the professional staff at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and has served as a vision therapist working with patients and teaching optometry students how to perform vision therapy. Karen has been teaching individuals how to perform vision therapy for several decades and has authored a chapter for ophthalmic assistants on this topic. She has also been a study coordinator for research studies investigating the effectiveness of vision therapy for various vision problems. In addition she has worked closely with Dr. Scheiman in his practice since 1987.
Tonya Garzoni – Vision Therapist
Tonya graduated in London, England with extended education in childcare. In 1994 after moving to the US she began working for The Eye Care Center and in 1995 after extensive training with Dr. Mitchell Scheiman and Karen Pollack she was hired as a vision therapist. Over the last 20 years she has worked with children and adults who require vision therapy for a wide variety of problems such as amblyopia, eye teaming, focusing, tracking and visual processing problems.
Terry Brun – Vision Therapist
Terry graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BA in psychology. Her graduate education was completed at Penn State University in special education. She was a special educator teacher for 17 years at United Cerebral palsy in Delaware County. After retiring, Terry started her training in Vision Therapy and has worked for over 20 years as a vision therapist in Dr. Scheiman’s practice. She has also worked as a tutor for the last 15 years with children with reading disabilities.
